Welcome to your Dollars $ Dimes beginner’s line dance class.
Your beginner’s class is from 7.30pm – 8.30pm and will include dances for those who have never tried line dancing before and want to learn both the basic steps (such as the grapevine and the shuffle) and some great dances that everyone can do right from the first evening.
When you start line dancing...
Don't expect to be able to do all the dances on your first evening!

Expect to spend a few weeks getting used to the style of dance and getting in some practice. At each class you will learn a new dance and the following week we will revise it. At the end of your 10-week class you should know at least 10 new dances and you will be well on your way as a “seasoned” line dancer.
When your beginner’s class finishes at 8.30pm you should stay and watch. You can learn a lot from watching others!! And soon you’ll be dancing the whole night too.
Wear the right shoes; ones that have some 'slip' on a wooden floor. You can't dance in trainers unless the floor is very slippery!! Wear shoes or boots with a smooth sole or a leather sole. Line dancing is thirsty work as with all forms of exercise, so drink something during the evening to keep the body and mind afloat.
Stay on the floor and keep dancing!! Don't be intimidated by other dancers, remember every body started as a beginner.
Don’t give up after the first night. Come back a second week and it'll seem more familiar. It usually takes a few weeks just to get used to line dancing and to get those brain cells into gear too - especially the ones that tell your feet what to do! But by then you'll know the names of some steps. Learning the names of dances and remembering them takes a few more weeks!!
Remember we're only here for the craic!
