I’m Dollars $ Dimes instructor Elaine Montgomery (Monty).

2nd Overall Champion, Worlds 2004

I competed in 2004 for the first time in competition at Intermediate Diamond level

My achievements so far are:-

2nd overall at The Scottish Gathering 2004

1st overall at The Shamrocks 2004

1st overall at the British Championships 2004

I learned to line dance about 1994 in the old Ebrington Factory (just opposite the house where I was born actually). I have line danced in various line dance classes in the North West, but only decided to start teaching my own class about June 2002.

Dollars $ Dimes, as it is now, was established in November 2002 which makes it a very “YOUNG” dance club compared to some of the other local clubs who have been around for quite a few years. Dollars $ Dimes caters for all levels:- beginners, improvers, intermediate and advanced. We are not a “Strictly Country” Club. We like to keep up with the modern dances as well as recapping some of the older dances and we dance to all genre of music – Country, Pop and Funky. We are a FUN CLUB and basically we would dance to the 10 O’clock News!!

The dancers aren’t a bad lot!! They’ll call out the steps if you forget them and if you go wrong they soon set you on the right foot again.

A Big Thank You to everyone who has continuously supported me since my first big “Kick Ball Change” into the teaching world and thanks to all those who have joined the gang along they way. With everyone’s support and working as a team we have achieved such a great deal in a short space of time.
